July 20, 2013 - Washington, District of Columbia, U.S. - Longtime White House journalist Helen Thomas, a pioneer for women in journalism and the first female member of the White House press corps, has died at age 92. Thomas, who was granted a seat in the front row of the White House press conferences covered nine presidents and initially made a name for herself as a reporter for United Press International in 1974.
