Mitosis

Representation of the different stages of mitosis: prophase where the chromatin of the nucleus of the mother cell is organized into 46 pairs of chromosomes, the nuclear envelope is broken, the centrioles move towards opposite poles, and the mitotic spindle is formed. Metaphase is the stage when the chromosomes line up at the center of the mitotic spindle. Anaphase is the phase when the elements of the cell begin to organize and separate identically to give rise to two daughter cells. Telophase is the stage when the two cells begin to separate and the nucleus to reform. At interphase, the chromatin of the nucleus of the two identical daughter cells has uncoiled.
